The service-proven KR QUANTEC robot series from KUKA, comprising 29 robot types, offers unrivaled power density, reach and payload capacity and optimal process results. The outstanding features of the KR QUANTEC nano are its low height and compact design.

Small but strong with maximum power density

The KR QUANTEC nano is characterized by its streamlined and compact design with a maximum payload of 120 kg or 160 kg and a reach of approx. 1,800 mm or 1,570 mm, not forgetting the swingover axis 3 (for maximum maneuverability in confined spaces). A comparison of its size with that of its KR QUANTEC colleagues, however, reveals its real strengths. Its small footprint means that the KR QUANTEC nano can be positioned very close to the vehicle body. There are no disruptive contours (all cables are located in the hollow shaft of axis 1) and the compact base frame makes for extremely space-saving operation – without compromising on the customarily high precision and repeatability. Its low height enables a second row of robots: a different robot from the KR QUANTEC series can be positioned behind the “small” KR QUANTEC nano, working simultaneously on the upper section of the same body.

Results of the innovative development: The robot density per cell is increased, production lines are shortened and the production space reduced. At the same time, unproductive transfer times are minimized and the costs for conveyor systems reduced. The successful concept thus enables more jobs per m2 than other solutions and has long been of interest to more than just the automotive sector.
